Hammond 1590TF 120x80x59 mm Natural Diecast Box, Flanged Base

The 1590TF is a natural aluminum 1590T diecast aluminum enclosure fitted with a flanged bottom plate, so the box can be screwed down to a panel, wall or chassis without drilling through its floor. It suits electronics builders, OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact, rugged metal housing for a circuit board, sensor interface or control circuit.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine for switches, connectors and cable glands. The unpainted natural aluminum version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54. The bottom flange is welded to the box.

Nominal size is 4.72 in x 3.15 in x 2.32 in (120 mm x 80 mm x 59 mm). The drawing shows an overall length of 149.12 mm [5.871 in] across the flange and an overall height of 60.50 mm [2.382 in]. Inside, the box measures 113.38 mm x 73.38 mm x 54.60 mm, with a maximum PC board size of 112.38 mm x 72.38 mm, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes board mounting easier.

The assembly ships with the box, lid and 4 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes; recommended cover screw torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. To reach IP65, add the 1590TGASKET kit and watertight stainless steel screws, or order the water-tight 1590WTF. The 1590TF is RoHS and REACH compliant and weighs 0.74 lbs shipped.
