Hammond 1590LBBK 51x51x31mm Black Diecast Aluminum Enclosure, IP54

The 1590LBBK is the painted black version of the compact 1590LB, a small square diecast aluminum enclosure of 1.99 in x 1.99 in x 1.22 in (51 mm x 51 mm x 31 mm). It suits builders of small sensors, remote modules and hand-held electronics who want a finished black metal housing.

A textured black polyester powder paint covers the diecast aluminum alloy box and lid, giving a lasting finish even after machining. Black screws are included to match. The lap joint between lid and box provides protection against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

The drawing shows outside dimensions of 50.55 mm x 50.60 mm [1.990 x 1.992 in] and a height of 31.00 mm [1.220 in], with 45.50 mm [1.791 in] of inside length and width and 27.05 mm [1.065 in] of inside height. The maximum P.C. board size is 44.7 mm square, and a draft angle of 2° or less on the side walls helps with board mounting. There are no mounting flanges on this version.

The 1590LBBK includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws in factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes, torqued to 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The 1590LBGASKET kit upgrades it to IP65 when screws are torqued to 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]; the ready-made water-tight version is 1590WLBBK. RoHS and REACH compliant; 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg), shrink wrapped.
