The 1590LB is a small square diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 1.99 in x 1.99 in x 1.22 in (51 mm x 51 mm x 31 mm). Its compact footprint makes it a good fit for sensors, small circuit boards, remote modules and similar electronics built by OEM engineers, hobbyists and field integrators.
The drawing gives outside dimensions of 50.55 mm [1.990 in] by 50.60 mm [1.992 in] and 31.00 mm [1.220 in] tall. Inside, there is 45.50 mm [1.791 in] of length and width with 27.05 mm [1.065 in] of height, and the manufacturer lists a maximum P.C. board size of 44.7 mm x 44.7 mm. A side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes PC board mounting easier.
The box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this natural version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. A lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard 1590LB is designed to meet IP54. It has no mounting flanges; 1590LBF (flanged base) and 1590LBFL (flanged lid) are the mountable versions.
Supplied with the box, lid and 4 cover screws threaded into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes, with a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The optional 1590LBGASKET kit upgrades it to IP65 (torque 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with gasket), and a water-tight 1590WLB is also offered. RoHS and REACH compliant; 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg), shrink wrapped.
