Hammond 1590GBK 100x50x25mm Black Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

Where a compact metal box needs a finished, dark appearance, the 1590GBK delivers the 1590G footprint of 3.94 in x 1.97 in x 1 in (100 mm x 50 mm x 25 mm) in textured black. It is a general purpose diecast enclosure for electronic instruments, interface modules and small control circuits built by OEMs, integrators and product designers.

The box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy and then coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint. The manufacturer notes the finish lasts even after machining, so holes for switches, LEDs and connectors can be added without losing the black look, and black screws are included to match. Lid and box meet in a lap joint that guards against dust and splashing water; the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Drawing dimensions are 100.00 x 50.00 x 25.50 mm [3.937 x 1.969 x 1.004 in] outside, with 95.23 mm [3.749 in] x 45.23 mm [1.781 in] inside and 21.00 mm [.827 in] of inside height. The maximum P.C. board is 94.23 mm x 44.23 mm, and side walls are drafted at 2° or less for easy board mounting. The ordering table gives a 1.02 in (26 mm) height.

Supplied shrink wrapped with box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws, the 1590GBK uses a recommended cover screw torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. For IP65, the black water-tight version is 1590WGBK, or add the 1590GGASKET kit. RoHS and REACH compliant; shipping weight 0.23 lbs (0.10 kg).
