The 1590DEGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for the 200 x 120 mm diecast aluminum enclosures in the 1590 Series. It lets builders and OEMs upgrade a standard IP54 enclosure to an IP65 design, or replace the gasket in a water-tight box.
According to the series ordering table, this is the optional replacement gasket kit for the 1590DE and 1590DEBK (200 x 120 x 64 mm) and the 1590EE and 1590EEBK (200 x 120 x 85 mm), as well as their water-tight counterparts 1590WDE, 1590WDEBK, 1590WEE and 1590WEEBK. The short description reads "DE/EE silicone gasket 2 pack".
Each gasket has adhesive backing for easy installation and is applied to the lid. Because the gasket goes on separately, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later. The silicone is rated from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
The kit is designed to meet IP65 when the gasket is properly installed and the lid screws are torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). When converting a standard enclosure, Hammond also recommends ordering its watertight stainless steel screws with O-ring; for these sizes the drawings list 1550WMS100 and 1550WMS100BK (M3.5 x 12mm).
1590DEGASKET is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a shipping weight of 0.01 lb.
