Hammond 1590DE 200x120x64mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590DE is an unpainted diecast aluminum instrument enclosure from the 1590 Series, sized at a nominal 200 x 120 x 64 mm (7.88 x 4.73 x 2.53 in). It suits OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators who need a rugged, easily machined housing for a circuit board, sensor interface or control module.

Box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy, and the natural version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. The lid meets the box in a lap joint, giving protection against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54. The lid is 4 mm (0.16 in) high and the side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less, which makes PC board mounting straightforward.

The drawing gives overall dimensions of 200.20 x 120.20 x 64.30 mm, with an inside length of 192.69 mm, inside width of 112.69 mm and inside height of 59.80 mm. The maximum PC board size listed is 175.67 x 107.67 mm. Shipping weight is 1.2 lb (0.54 kg).

Each assembly includes the box, lid and six cover screws that thread into factory-tapped M3.5 x 0.6 holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m. To take the enclosure to IP65, add the 1590DEGASKET silicone gasket kit and torque the lid screws to 25-30 cN.m, and pair it with 1550WMS100 stainless steel O-ring screws. A factory-sealed water-tight version is offered as 1590WDE.

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped, and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing). Solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
