The 1590BX2FL is a long, slim diecast aluminum enclosure in natural finish with a mounting flange integrated into the lid. It is the 'w/ Flanged Lid' version of the 1590BX2, suited to installers and OEM engineers who want to fix the lid to a wall or panel and close the box onto it. The part page lists 10 x 2.76 x 1.36 in (254 x 70 x 35 mm).
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
With the lid flange, the drawing shows an overall length of 283.00 mm [11.142 in], a width of 70.00 mm [2.756 in] and an overall height of 34.50 mm [1.358 in]. Inside dimensions are 248.33 x 64.33 x 29.70 mm [9.777 x 2.533 x 1.169 in]. The side walls have a draft angle of 2 degrees or less for easy PC board mounting, and the part data gives maximum P.C. board figures of 62.33 mm and 246.33 mm.
Six 6-32 UNC cover screws thread into factory-tapped holes at 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the 1590BX2FL is designed to meet IP54. The water-tight equivalent is 1590WBX2FL; the replacement gasket kit listed for this size is 1590BXGASKET.
