Hammond 1590BFBK 113x60x31mm Black Diecast Box, Welded Base Flange

The 1590BFBK is a black textured diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590 Series with a flanged bottom plate, built for engineers and integrators who need a small, rugged instrument housing that bolts straight down to a panel, chassis or wall. The part page lists its size as 4.43 x 2.38 x 1.22 in (113 x 60 x 31 mm), and the drawing shows an overall length of 140.21 mm [5.520 in] across the flange.

Box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine. This black version is coated with a textured polyester powder paint that keeps a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included to match. The bottom flange is welded to the box, and the drawing gives a flange mounting hole spacing of 128.93 mm [5.076 in].

Inside you have 107.05 x 55.45 x 27.00 mm [4.215 x 2.183 x 1.063 in] to work with, and the side walls have a low draft angle of 2 degrees or less for easy PC board mounting. The part data gives maximum P.C. board figures of 53.45 mm and 105.05 mm.

A lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The lid fastens with four 6-32 UNC screws into factory-tapped holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. For IP65, the water-tight equivalent is 1590WBFBK, or the 1590BFBK can be upgraded later with the 1590BGASKET kit and liquid resistant screws, tightened to 25-30 cN.m.

It ships shrink wrapped at 0.39 lbs (0.18 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant. STEP and IGES models are available, and factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) can be quoted.
