Hammond 1590BB2 120x94x38mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590BB2 takes the wide 120 x 94 mm footprint of the 1590BB and raises the nominal height to 38 mm for taller components. It is a natural finish diecast aluminum enclosure with no mounting flanges, used as a general-purpose electronic instrument housing by OEM engineers, technicians and integrators.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard 1590BB2 is designed to meet IP54.

The part page lists 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.49 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 38 mm); the series table gives a nominal 4.72 x 3.70 x 1.50 in (120 x 94 x 38 mm). The drawing shows 119.50 x 94.00 x 37.75 mm [4.705 x 3.701 x 1.486 in] outside and 113.77 x 88.27 x 33.50 mm [4.479 x 3.475 x 1.319 in] inside. Listed maximum PC board values are 84.83 mm and 110.33 mm, with a side wall draft angle of 2° or less.

Box, lid and 4 cover screws are included; screws thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes at 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The water-tight version is 1590WBB2, and the 1590BBGASKET kit fits. Factory modification and STEP or IGES solid models are available.
