The 1590B3GASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for 1590B3 size diecast aluminum enclosures, which measure a nominal 4.57 x 3.03 x 1.50 in (116 x 77 x 38 mm). Electricians, integrators and OEM builders use it to take a standard IP54 1590B3-size enclosure to IP65 or to replace the gasket in a water-tight 1590WB3 version.
Each kit includes two pre-formed silicone gaskets with adhesive backing for easy installation, applied to the lid. Because the gasket goes on separately, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later. The silicone has a temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
The gasket is designed to meet IP65 when properly installed with lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). When converting a standard enclosure to a watertight box, the 1590 Series notes recommend also ordering watertight screws (stainless steel with O-ring).
