Hammond 1590B2 112x61x38mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590B2 shares the 112 x 61 mm footprint of the 1590B but stands taller at a nominal 38 mm, giving more room for components. It is a natural finish diecast aluminum enclosure with no mounting flanges, used by OEM engineers, technicians and integrators as a general-purpose electronic instrument housing.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted surface is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard 1590B2 is designed to meet IP54.

The part page lists 4.43 in x 2.38 in x 1.48 in (113 mm x 60 mm x 38 mm); the series table gives a nominal 4.41 x 2.40 x 1.50 in (112 x 61 x 38 mm). The drawing measures 112.40 x 60.50 x 37.50 mm [4.425 x 2.382 x 1.476 in] outside, with an inside length of 106.77 mm [4.203 in], inside width of 55.17 mm [2.172 in] and inside height of 33.50 mm [1.319 in]. Listed max PC board values are 53.17 mm and 104.77 mm, and the side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less.

Box, lid and 4 cover screws are included, threading into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes at a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The water-tight version is 1590WB2, and the 1590BGASKET kit fits this size. Factory modification and STEP or IGES models are available.
