Hammond 1590B 112x61x31mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590B is a natural finish diecast aluminum enclosure in the 112 x 61 x 31 mm size of the 1590 Series, with no mounting flanges. It is a general-purpose electronic instrument box for OEM engineers, technicians and integrators who need a rugged housing that is easy to drill and machine for controls and connectors.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, and lap joint construction where the lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water. The standard 1590B is designed to meet IP54.

The part page lists a size of 4.43 in x 2.38 in x 1.22 in (113 mm x 60 mm x 31 mm), while the series table gives a nominal 4.41 x 2.40 x 1.22 in (112 x 61 x 31 mm). The drawing shows 112.40 x 60.50 x 31.00 mm [4.425 x 2.382 x 1.220 in] outside and 107.05 x 55.45 x 27.00 mm [4.215 x 2.183 x 1.063 in] inside. Maximum PC board dimensions are listed as 53.45 mm and 105.05 mm, and a side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes board mounting easier.

The assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes, with a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. For a liquid resistant build choose 1590WB, which is supplied with a silicone gasket, or upgrade later with the 1590BGASKET kit. Factory modification and STEP or IGES solid models are available.
