The 158S is a 1.5 henry filter choke rated for 250 mA DC, for high voltage power supply filters that draw more current than the 100 to 200 mA parts in the range.
Its drawing (Rev. 0, 11/06/24) shows a 30 V, 60 Hz inductance test at 250 mA DC, a measured DCR of 59.68 ohms and a 1500 V hipot between windings and frame.
Electrically, the 158S is specified at 1.5H ±15% with its inductance measured at the rated 250 mA DC. DC resistance is 60 ohms ±15% and the maximum operating voltage is 400 VDC. As with every choke in the 153-159 Series, it will show less inductance at slightly higher currents and more inductance at lower currents, so size it to the actual load current.
Construction follows the series' economical open-bracket channel mount, with leads at least 5 in long.
