The 158L is a 15 henry DC filter choke rated for 75 mA DC, for builders of high voltage power supplies who want high inductance in a compact open-bracket part.
Compared with the 14H 157L at the same 75 mA rating, the 158L uses the slightly larger C10H frame, offers 15H and has a lower listed DC resistance of 411 ohms.
Electrically, the 158L is specified at 15H ±15% with its inductance measured at the rated 75 mA DC. DC resistance is 411 ohms ±15% and the maximum operating voltage is 400 VDC. As with every choke in the 153-159 Series, it will show less inductance at slightly higher currents and more inductance at lower currents, so size it to the actual load current.
Construction follows the series' economical open-bracket channel mount, with leads at least 5 in long. Units are vacuum impregnated with polyurethane varnish for quiet operation and long life, and every unit is Hipot tested (100%) at 1,500 VAC.
