The 1589T6G1BKRR is a 1U horizontal rackmount power distribution unit for 19-inch racks and cabinets, rated 20A at 125VAC, 60 Hz. All six NEMA 5-20R receptacles face the rear of the unit, which suits installations where equipment power cords terminate behind the rack and front-panel space needs to stay clear. It is aimed at IT, networking, telecom, AV, test and industrial users who need a higher-current 20A branch circuit distributed inside a rack.

Power comes in through a 15 ft cord fitted with a NEMA 5-20P straight-blade plug, using 12/3 SJT cord construction. The heavy-duty 5-20R receptacles accept both NEMA 5-15P and 5-20P equipment plugs, so the same strip can serve mixed 15A and 20A loads. A resettable circuit breaker is built in to help protect against accidental electrical overload, and an illuminated power indicator (pilot light) provides visual confirmation of operating status. This version has no on/off switch; the switched equivalent in the series is 1589H6G1BKRR.

The chassis measures 1.72 in (44 mm) high, 19.00 in (483 mm) wide and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with black painted steel front and back and a textured RAL9005 black powder coat finish that meets applicable GREENGUARD indoor air quality and RoHS requirements. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
