Hammond 1589T24D1 24-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A 120V

The 1589T24D1 is a 24 in. (610 mm) vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) with eight NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers who need reliable power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench. This version uses a power indicator (pilot) light rather than an on/off switch; the 1589H24D1 is the equivalent strip with an on-off switch.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, keeping the unit rugged but light at a 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg) shipping weight. The finish is natural, and heavy-duty black receptacles are used, each 1 in. square and equally spaced over the length of the strip. A resettable 20 amp circuit breaker is built in. Drawing dimensions show a 601.98 mm [23.700 in] receptacle span and an overall side view length of 608.79 mm [23.968 in], with a 29.18 mm [1.149 in] body profile.

Power is supplied by a 15 ft heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord with an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges; operating temperature is -20 C to +60 C. A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the strip, and additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP.

The 1589T24D1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA certified (C22.2 No. 308-14; drawing also notes C22.2 No. 21-95, 42-99) under UL file E166039. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment; allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts. TAA-compliant, RoHS and REACH compliant, and manufactured in North America.
