Hammond 1589H12G1BKX 12-Outlet 20A Rackmount PDU, Front and Rear

The 1589H12G1BKX is a 1U horizontal rackmount power distribution unit that splits its twelve NEMA 5-20R receptacles between the front and rear of the strip — six facing each way. That dual-sided layout suits IT, networking, AV, telecom, test and industrial racks where some equipment cords land at the front and others at the rear, helping keep rack cabling organized without a second PDU.

Power comes in through a 15 ft heavy-duty 12/3 SJT cord terminated in a straight-blade NEMA 5-20P plug, giving reach to a 20A branch circuit some distance from the rack. The unit is rated 20A at 125VAC (rated voltage listed as 120 VAC on the part data), and the heavy-duty 5-20R receptacles accept both NEMA 5-15P and 5-20P equipment plugs. An on/off rocker switch and a resettable circuit breaker are built into the front panel, the breaker helping protect against accidental electrical overload. This model is not metered, not surge protected, does not use a shielded cord and is not hospital grade.

Construction is a compact 1U chassis measuring 1.72 in x 19 in x 2.66 in (44 mm x 483 mm x 68 mm) with a textured RAL9005 black powder coat finish, and it mounts directly into standard 19-inch racks and cabinets through four 0.250 in x 0.375 in slots. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg).

The 1589-RF-RR series is UL/cUL recognized to UL 1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14 under UL File E166039, with an operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. The 1589H12G1BKX is made in Canada, is USMCA, RoHS and REACH compliant, and is TAA compliant for applicable U.S. federal procurement.
