Hammond 1587H24B1 70-Inch 24-Outlet Vertical Power Strip, 15A

The 1587H24B1 is a 70 in (1778 mm) vertical basic PDU with 24 NEMA 5-15R outlets, built for distributing 15 A, 125 VAC single-phase power inside racks and cabinets. All 24 receptacles face the front of the strip, giving IT, AV and lab technicians a high-density outlet count in a single vertical run for switches, patching hardware, media converters, test gear and workbench equipment.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, so the strip stays rugged yet lightweight. The receptacles are 1 in square and equally spaced over the length of the power strip at 2.500 in (63.50 mm) intervals, which keeps wall-warts and larger plug bodies from crowding each other. The overall assembly measures 1783.08 mm [70.200 in] in the front view and 1789.86 mm [70.467 in] in the side view, with a 41.05 mm [1.616 in] case width and 29.18 mm [1.149 in] end profile.

Power comes in through a 15 ft heavy duty 14 gauge cord - 14/3 SJT type for extreme temperature ranges - with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug. The 1587H24B1 uses an on/off rocker switch and a resettable circuit breaker for local control and overload protection; a pilot-light version of the same configuration is offered as 1587T24B1. This part is not surge protected.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included for vertical installation, and the strip can also be used horizontally on a workbench. Additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. The unit is UL Listed to UL1363, CSA Certified to C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99) under UL file E166039, cULus, RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
