Hammond 1585H8A1S 48-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical Surge PDU Strip

The 1585H8A1S is a 48-inch vertical basic PDU with surge protection, built for IT, AV and facilities teams who need clean, protected power distribution inside a rack or cabinet. It provides eight NEMA 5-15R outlets on the front face, all rated 125VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, and terminates in an integral molded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug on a 6 ft cord.

Construction uses a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, keeping the strip rugged but light. The finish is listed as Natural. The strip length is 48.00 in (1219 mm), with an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm (48.472 in), a body width of 41.05 mm (1.616 in) and a depth of 29.18 mm (1.149 in) at the end view. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg). Receptacles are 1" square and equally spaced over the length of the strip.

Controls include an on/off rocker power switch, a resettable 15 Amp circuit breaker and a green surge indicator light that confirms the surge module is active. Surge performance is 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp rated MOVs for a total of 75,000 Amps single-pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a Nominal Discharge Current (In) of 5kA. If the module reaches the end of its useful life, internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the green light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1585H8A1S, so it can be installed in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench. Additional hardware is available as P/N 1585CLIP. The unit is cULus Listed to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17 (Type 3 SPD) and UL 1363 and C22.2 No. 308-18, TAA-compliant and RoHS Compliant.
