The 1583T8B1BK is a 1U, 19-inch horizontal rack mount basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 15A at 125 VAC, 60 Hz, built for IT, AV, broadcast and industrial racks where power needs to be distributed from the rear of the unit. It carries eight NEMA 5-15R outlets, all on the rear face (0 front, 8 rear), and uses a red power indicator light rather than an on/off rocker switch, so connected equipment stays live and cannot be switched off accidentally at the strip.
Construction is painted steel, black on both the front and the back, finished in RAL9005 black powder coat that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with a drawing-verified body height of 1.718 in (43.64 mm) and depth of 2.661 in (67.58 mm). Power comes in through a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges, 15 ft long, with an integral moulded straight-blade NEMA 5-15P plug. A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker on the unit guards against accidental overload. This version of the 1583T8B1BK is supplied without surge protection, without a shielded cord, without an ammeter and without rotated outlets.
