Hammond 1583H8C1 1U 8-Outlet 15A Rack PDU, Locking Plug

The 1583H8C1 is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount outlet strip (basic PDU) that distributes single-phase 125 V power to eight rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets. It is intended for IT, AV, broadcast and industrial users who need straightforward, hard-wired-cord power distribution behind equipment mounted in a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet, with cabling kept out of sight at the rear.

Power is supplied through a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded plug. On this version the cord is 6 ft long and terminates in a NEMA L5-15P locking plug, so the connection to the branch receptacle cannot be pulled loose accidentally. A lighted on/off rocker switch controls the strip, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload.

The steel chassis measures 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep for 1U mounting, with a 17.500 in mounting-hole span on the flanges. Front and back are finished in ASA 61 gray powder coated steel, which complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Shipping weight is 3.75 lbs (1.70 kg).

1583H8C1 is rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps and is CSA Certified to Standards C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99) and UL Recognized to Standard UL1363 under UL file E166039. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America. This model has no surge protection, no ammeter, no shielded cord and no rotated outlets.
