Hammond 1583H6D1SBK 1U 6-Outlet Surge PDU, 15 ft Locking Cord

The 1583H6D1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, built for distributing single-phase power to equipment mounted in racks and cabinets. All six NEMA 5-15R outlets face the rear of the unit (0 front, 6 rear), so patch cords and equipment power leads stay behind the rack where IT, AV and facilities teams want them.

Power is controlled by a lighted on/off rocker switch, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload. This version includes Hammond's surge module: 1080 Joules maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a Nominal Discharge Current of 5kA. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.

The 15 ft cord is heavy-duty 14/3 SJT type wire for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded plug; the series table and drawing identify this part's cord as locking NEMA L5-15P blade type. The cord is not shielded, the outlets are not rotated, and the unit is not metered.

Front and back are black painted steel finished in RAL9005 black powder coat, which complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality.
