Hammond 1582H6B1SBK 1U Surge-Protected PDU, 6 Front 5-15R Outlets

The 1582H6B1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU with surge protection, built to distribute single-phase 120/125 VAC power from the front of the rack. With six front-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets, a lighted on/off rocker switch and a 15 ft moulded-plug cord, it suits IT racks, AV equipment racks, network closets and OEM assemblies where front access to receptacles is preferred.

Construction is painted steel, front and back, in a textured black finish. The unit measures 1.72 in (44 mm) high, 19.00 in (483 mm) wide and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with the drawing giving overall dimensions of 43.64 mm [1.718 in] high, 482.60 mm [19.000 in] wide and 67.58 mm [2.661 in] deep. Shipping weight is 4.3 lbs (1.95 kg). A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker on the front panel guards against accidental overload, and the heavy-duty 14/3 SJT type 14 gauge cord with integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug handles extreme temperature ranges.

Surge protection in the 1582H6B1SBK is rated at 1080 Joules maximum energy with 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a Voltage Protection Rating (Vpr) of 500V in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a Nominal Discharge Current (In) of 5kA. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; internal protection disconnects the module at the end of its useful life and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.

The PDU is cRUus recognized to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17 / No. 269.4-17 for Surge Protective Devices Type 3 and Type 4, and to UL 1363 and C22.2 No. 308-18 for relocatable power taps and multi outlet assemblies (UL file E166039). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA and TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
