Hammond 1582H6A1S 1U Surge-Protected 15A PDU, 6 Outlets

The 1582H6A1S is a 1U, 19-inch rack mount basic PDU rated 15 A at 120 VAC (drawing rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps) with six front-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets and an integral surge protection module. It is built for IT, AV and facilities teams who need clean, front-accessible power distribution inside a 19-inch rack or cabinet, with transient suppression at the outlet to guard equipment from surges.

Power comes in through a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug, supplied in a 6 ft length. An illuminated on/off rocker switch controls the outlets, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker helps prevent accidental overload. A surge indicator light confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while power to the load is maintained, now unprotected.

The chassis measures 19.00 in (483 mm) wide, 1.72 in (44 mm) high and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep for horizontal 1U mounting, and ships at 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg). Front and back are ASA 61 Grey painted steel, finished in a powder coat that complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality.

Surge performance of the 1582H6A1S includes 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5 kA Nominal Discharge Current. The unit is cRUus recognized to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17 / No. 269.4-17 for Type 3 and Type 4 Surge Protective Devices, and to UL 1363 and C22.2 No. 308-18 for relocatable power taps and multi outlet assemblies.
