Hammond 1557FGY 160mm Square, 45mm Tall Light Gray ABS Enclosure

The 1557FGY is a light gray (RAL7035 grey) ABS watertight enclosure measuring 6.3 in x 6.3 in x 1.77 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 45 mm). It pairs the low 45 mm height of the 1557F profile with an understated gray finish, making it a good fit for indoor controls, sensors and electronic assemblies in offices, labs and plant rooms.

The body is molded from general purpose ABS with a UL94-HB flammability rating, for indoor use. It is not UL listed; ABS versions have been tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and have a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

The interior is 151.02 mm [5.95 in] long and wide and 38.80 mm [1.53 in] high, with bosses that take #6 self-tapping screws for boards up to 147.5 mm x 147.5 mm. The lid combines two piece tongue and groove construction with a one piece high temperature silicone gasket and is secured by stainless steel M4-0.7 x 20 mm screws into corrosion resistant inserts; the recommended torque is 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).

Supplied with the 1557FGY are the lid, 4 cover screws, preformed gasket, 4 rubber feet, 4 wall mount feet and 4 wall mount foot screws. Stand it on a desk, or mount it flush or with the heavy duty wall flange using #8 pan head screws (not included). Shipping weight is 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg).
