Hammond 1557FGASKET Replacement Silicone Lid Gasket for 1557F/FA, 2-Pack

The 1557FGASKET is the replacement lid gasket for the 160 mm square enclosures in the 1557 Series, covering both the 45 mm tall 1557F and the 70 mm tall 1557FA profiles. It is supplied as a 2-pack of black, preformed silicone gaskets, giving maintenance teams and OEM builders a spare to restore the seal after the lid has been opened many times or the original gasket has been damaged.

In the 1557 Series the gasket is one piece, made from high temperature UL listed silicone, and sits in the two piece tongue and groove joint between box and lid. That joint is what provides the protection against access of oil, dust and water that the series is built around. The part page lists UL file E65324, RoHS and REACH compliance.

Per the gasket drawing, the 1557FGASKET measures 157.30 mm [6.19 in] square on the outside with a 108.06 mm [4.25 in] inner dimension and a 1.80 mm [.07 in] section. It fits the 1557FBK, 1557FGY, 1557F2BK, 1557F2GY, 1557FABK, 1557FAGY, 1557FA2BK and 1557FA2GY enclosures, which all share this gasket in the ordering table.

The gaskets ship in a bag with a listed shipping weight of 0.01 lbs (0.00 kg). When refitting a lid, the enclosure drawing gives a recommended cover screw torque of 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m) for the M4 stainless steel screws. Note that some chemicals can damage plastics; the series chemical resistance guidance advises against thread locking compounds, strong solvents and some greases and oils.
