Hammond 1557FBK 160mm Square, 45mm Tall Black ABS Enclosure

The 1557FBK is a low-profile black ABS watertight enclosure, 6.3 in x 6.3 in x 1.77 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 45 mm). It is the most compact ABS option in the 160 mm square 1557 range, a practical housing for indoor circuit boards, interface modules and small controllers where the lid needs to come off for service.

General purpose ABS carries a UL94-HB flammability rating and is specified for indoor use. The 1557FBK is not UL listed, but ABS versions have been tested to and meet IP66, with an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

Inside, the 1557FBK offers 151.02 mm [5.95 in] square and 38.80 mm [1.53 in] of height, for P.C. boards up to 147.5 mm x 147.5 mm mounted on bosses that accept #6 self-tapping screws. A two piece tongue and groove lid with a one piece silicone gasket keeps out oil, dust and water, and four stainless steel M4 screws threaded into corrosion resistant bushings allow repeated opening.

Each enclosure comes with its lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 4 wall mount feet and 4 wall mount foot screws. It can be used on a tabletop, flush on a wall or in the heavy duty wall flange position; the ABS wall mount feet are installed at 80-90 cN-m (7-8 lbf-in). Shipping weight is 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg).
