Hammond 1557F2GY 160mm Square, 45mm Gray Polycarbonate Enclosure

The 1557F2GY is the light gray, RAL7035 grey polycarbonate version of the 1557F watertight enclosure. At 6.3 in x 6.3 in x 1.77 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 45 mm) it is a compact, low-height box for control panels, sensors and printed circuit boards up to 147.5 mm x 147.5 mm, and the neutral gray finish blends into industrial and building settings.

Polycarbonate construction gives this part a UV stabilized body for outdoor use, cUL and UL 508A listing under file E65324, an IK08 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a recommended operating temperature of -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F). The part page shows IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and a UL94 V-0 flame rating.

Sealing comes from a two piece tongue and groove lid and a one piece gasket of high temperature UL listed silicone. Stainless steel M4-0.7 x 20 mm cover screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts for repeated access; torque them to 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m). The usable interior is 151.02 mm [5.95 in] long and wide with 38.80 mm [1.53 in] of inside height, and internal bosses accept #6 self-tapping screws for board mounting.

In the box: enclosure, lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 4 wall mount feet and 4 wall mount foot screws. The 1557F2GY can sit on a desk, mount flush to a wall or use the heavy duty wall flange arrangement, and accepts pole mount kits PMB6687KIT3 (7 in max) or PMB6687KIT4 (15 in max). It ships shrink wrapped at 0.71 lbs (0.32 kg).
