Hammond 1557BBK 80mm Square, 45mm Tall Black ABS Watertight Box

The 1557BBK is the low-profile, 80 mm square black member of the 1557 Series: a general purpose ABS enclosure measuring 3.15 in x 3.15 in x 1.77 in (80 mm x 80 mm x 45 mm). It is aimed at designers who need a compact, sealed housing for a small printed circuit board or wiring interface in an indoor setting.

Its rounded corners and face give a modern appearance, while the two piece tongue and groove lid and one piece high temperature UL listed silicone gasket protect against oil, dust and water; the ABS version is tested to and meets IP66. Four M4 stainless steel machine screws (M4-0.7 x 20 mm) thread into corrosion resistant bushings for repeated assembly, with a recommended torque of 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).

The 1557BBK includes four rubber feet for tabletop use plus two wall mount feet and two #8 self-tapping foot screws, allowing a flush keyhole-style wall mount or a heavy duty wall flange mount. Install the feet at 80 - 90 cN-m (7 - 8 lbf-in) on ABS; #8 pan head wall screws are not included. The ABS version is not UL listed. It ships shrink wrapped at 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg).
