Hammond 1556GAWH 200x160x70mm White ABS Desktop Enclosure

The 1556GAWH is a white 1556GA enclosure: the 70 mm (2.76 in) tall version of the 200 x 160 mm (7.87 x 6.30 in) G footprint. Molded from flame retardant ABS, it gives OEM engineers and integrators a deeper housing for printed circuit boards, IoT equipment and small electronics with taller components.

The box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS plastic with a light satin texture, carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. Rounded corners and face give a modern look, while lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water; the enclosure is designed to meet IP54 and is for indoor use only.

Per the drawing, inside dimensions are 193.21 mm (7.61 in) long, 153.21 mm (6.03 in) wide and 64.00 mm (2.52 in) high. The part page gives a maximum PC board size of 185 x 142 mm, and the 1556GPL aluminum inner panel, sold separately, fits this size as a removable mounting plate.

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and 4 rubber feet, so it is ready for tabletop use out of the box. For walls, the 1556FOOTWH-4 white mounting foot kit (sold separately) supports a heavy duty wall flange mount or a flush keyhole-style mount. Recommended cover screw torque is 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m) and PCB screw torque is 42-56 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m).

It is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships in shrink wrap, and can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing. Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, so check compatibility before using solvents, thread lockers or cutting fluids.
