Hammond 1555YGY 300 x 240 x 95 mm ABS Styled-Lid Enclosure

The 1555YGY is a 300 x 240 x 95 mm (11.81 x 9.45 x 3.74 in) general purpose ABS enclosure in light gray RAL 7035, part of the 1555 styled-lid series. It is aimed at indoor electronics: printed circuit boards, DIN rail mounted components and front-panel controls, with the lid's smooth recess ready for a membrane keypad or label.

On the drawing, the 1555YGY offers 289.09 x 229.22 mm inside with 84.08 mm inside height, and the part data lists a maximum P.C. board of 225 x 285 mm. Mounting provisions include molded DIN rail tabs, four M3 brass inserts, ten bosses that accept #8 self-tapping screws, lid standoffs for #6 self tapping screws and vertical card guides for 1.5 mm thick boards. The 1554YPL galvanized steel inner panel is available separately and fits in the box or lid.

The two piece tongue and groove lid uses a one piece, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket, supplied loose. Six self captivating M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into six M4 corrosion resistant inserts; Hammond recommends 8-9 lbf-in (90-100 cN-m) of torque.

ABS versions have a UL94 HB flame rating, are tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and are recommended for -20°C to +60°C in indoor use; they are not UL listed. Wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and take the 1554FT-XY foot kit. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped and weighs 2.41 lbs (1.09 kg) shipped. The polycarbonate, UL listed equivalent is 1555Y2GY.
