Hammond 1555BGY 65x65x41mm ABS Watertight Enclosure, IP66 Indoor

The 1555BGY is a square, general purpose ABS enclosure in the 1555 Series with a nominal size of 65 x 65 x 41 mm (the part page lists 2.6 x 2.6 x 1.6 in, or 66 x 66 x 41 mm). It is aimed at designers housing a small circuit board or DIN rail mounted device indoors, where a sealed, gasketed box is needed without outdoor or UL requirements.

ABS versions are molded from general purpose material with a UL94-HB flammability rating. They have been tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, and are recommended for -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). ABS versions are not UL listed; for a UL 508A listed, outdoor-capable box of this size, choose 1555B2GY in polycarbonate.

The lid closes with two piece tongue and groove construction over a one-piece replaceable silicone gasket that ships loose inside the enclosure. Four included M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts, are self captivating, and have a recommended torque of 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m). The light gray RAL 7035 styled lid provides a smooth recess for a label or membrane keypad.

The 1555BGY accepts a P.C. board up to 55.45 x 55.96 mm and has molded DIN rail mounting tabs; brass inserts, card guides and lid standoffs are not provided on size B. Two 4.00 mm wall-mounting holes are outside the gasket channel and also accept the 1554FT foot kit. Other accessories are the 1554BPL steel inner panel, 1554BGASKET gasket and 1554BCL clear lid.
