Hammond 1555AGY 52x50x40mm ABS Watertight Enclosure, IP66

The 1555AGY is the smallest enclosure in the 1555 Series: a light gray (RAL 7035) general purpose ABS box measuring 52 x 50 x 40 mm (2.05 x 1.97 x 1.57 in). It suits OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact, sealed housing for a small printed circuit board or DIN rail mounted component indoors.

The lid uses two piece tongue and groove construction with a one-piece replaceable silicone gasket made from high temperature UL listed material. The gasket ships loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. On this size the lid is held by two included M4 stainless steel machine screws that thread into corrosion resistant inserts; the screws are self captivating and the recommended cover screw torque is 85 - 92 ozf-in (60-65 cN-m).

The ABS version is tested to and meets IP66, carries a UL94-HB flammability rating and an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). It is intended for indoor use and is not UL listed. If you need a UL 508A listed, outdoor-rated box of the same footprint, the polycarbonate equivalent is 1555A2GY.

Inside, the 1555AGY accepts a P.C. board up to 44 x 42 mm, and an optional steel inner panel, 1554APL, is ordered separately. Size A does not include the M3 brass inserts, card guides or lid standoffs found on larger sizes, and no foot kit is listed for it. Two 4.30 mm mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel. Shipping weight is 0.11 lbs (0.05 kg); the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
