Hammond 1555A2GY 52x50x40mm Styled Lid Polycarbonate NEMA Enclosure

The 1555A2GY is the smallest enclosure in the 1555 series: a 52 x 50 x 40 mm (2.05 x 1.97 x 1.57 in) light gray RAL 7035 polycarbonate box with the series' styled lid. The styled lid has a smooth, recessed surface for a membrane keypad or label. That makes this compact, UL listed enclosure a good fit for OEM engineers and integrators building small sensors, interface modules or keypad-controlled devices that need a watertight housing.

The polycarbonate is UV stabilized for outdoor use and the gray material carries a UL94-5VA flame rating. Polycarbonate versions are cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324 and have been independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. The 1555A2GY also carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a recommended operating range of -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).

The lid seals with two-piece tongue and groove construction and a one-piece gasket of high temperature UL listed silicone, which is supplied loose inside the enclosure. Two M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts. The screws are self-captivating, and the lid holes are threaded the first time the screws are installed. Recommended cover screw torque for this size is 85-92 ozf-in (60-65 cN-m).

Inside, the enclosure takes a PC board up to 44 x 42 mm. Its bosses accept #6 self-tapping screws, and a 1554APL steel inner panel can be ordered separately. As an A size, it does not have the lid standoffs, M3 brass inserts or vertical card guides found in larger 1555 models, and no foot kit is listed for it. The wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel. Shipping weight is 0.11 lbs (0.05 kg).
