The 1554VA2GY is a 240 x 160 x 90 mm solid gray polycarbonate enclosure whose lid is secured by six cover screws. With IP68 and a NEMA rating of 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 on its part page, it suits outdoor and wet-location installations of PC boards and DIN rail components.
The body and lid are light gray RAL 7035 polycarbonate rated UL94 5VA. Polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use, cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324, impact rated IK08 per IEC 62262:2021, and recommended for -40°C to +110°C. The drawing is marked cUL US Listed, Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P.
According to the drawing notes, the assembly includes the box, lid, six cover screws and a preformed silicone gasket. The M4-0.7 x 25 mm stainless steel screws have a recommended torque of 71-85 oz f-in (50-60 cN-m) and thread into corrosion resistant inserts. Inside, the enclosure is 231.29 mm long, 147.29 mm wide and 83.30 mm high, and the part page lists maximum P.C. board dimensions of 145.5 mm and 226.82 mm.
DIN rail tabs, vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards and M3 brass inserts (accepting #6 self-tapping screws) are molded in. Accessories include the 1554VAPL steel inner panel, 1554VAGASKET, SC583-50, 1591MM100, 1598ATS100 and the 1554FT foot kit. The 1554VA2GY mounts through four Ø4.50 mm holes outside the gasket channel and ships shrink wrapped at 1.34 lbs (0.61 kg).
