Hammond 1554SGY 160x160x90mm Gray ABS Watertight IP66 Enclosure

The 1554SGY is the economical, indoor-rated ABS version of the deep square 160 x 160 x 90 mm nominal size (6.3 x 6.3 x 3.5 in; 91 mm total height) in the 1554 Series. Box and lid are light gray RAL 7035, and the enclosure is aimed at electronics builders and panel shops housing taller components or DIN rail devices inside buildings.

General purpose ABS carries a UL94-HB flammability rating and is intended for indoor use. The ABS versions are not UL listed, but have been tested to and meet IP66 and carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021. Recommended operating temperature is -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

The drawing shows 84.00 mm (3.31 in) of inside height and 152.13 mm (5.99 in) of inside length, and the part page gives a maximum PC board of 147.4 x 150.95 mm. Molded DIN rail tabs, M3 brass inserts or standoffs for #6 self-tapping screws and vertical PC card guides give several ways to mount hardware; the 1554RPL steel inner panel is ordered separately.

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, four cover screws and a preformed silicone gasket. The gasket is a replaceable one-piece silicone part supplied loose; the four M4 stainless steel lid screws are self-captivating and should be torqued to 43-57 oz f-in (30-40 cN-m). The 1554SGY ships shrink wrapped at 0.88 lbs (0.40 kg).
