The 1553TTGYBAT is the light grey, battery-door version of the compact 1553TT hand-held "T" soft side enclosure. It is built for self-powered instrument or mobile data devices that combine a keypad and a display, and its dark grey TPE overmold gives a soft grip.
It measures 6.50 x 3.15 x 1.10 in (165 x 80 x 28 mm). The display section is 3.15 in (80 mm) wide and the keyboard section 2.68 in (68 mm) wide, both recessed for membrane devices; the drawing shows a 96.31 x 67.31 mm display-area inlay and an inner box height of 22.00 mm. The part page lists maximum P.C. board figures of 92.22 mm and 134 mm.
Power comes from (2) AA or (1) 9V batteries. The assembly ships with a battery door, battery spring clips (4 pcs), a 9V adapter (1 pc), the top, bottom, front plastic panel and 6 cover screws; M3 brass inserts are pre-installed. The drawing shows 8 PCB posts on top and 10 on the bottom for #4 x 1/4" self tap screws, and a 62.45 mm battery holder.
The enclosure is molded from flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0 and closes with M3-0.5 x 18 mm Philips head machine screws into brass bushings, torqued to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). The top end panel is removable for modification. Gray replacement doors are 53TTBATDOORGY-5. The 1553TTGYBAT is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.26 lbs (0.12 kg).
