Hammond 1553TTGY Light Grey 165 mm Keypad Handheld Enclosure

The 1553TTGY is the light grey, standard version of the compact 1553TT size in the 1553T hand-held "T" soft side enclosure series. The grey ABS case has a dark grey TPE overmold around the handheld section and recessed display and keyboard areas for membrane devices, a layout the series describes as perfect for instrument or mobile data enclosures requiring a keypad and display.

Outside it measures 6.50 x 3.15 x 1.10 in (165 x 80 x 28 mm): a 3.15 in (80 mm) display section and a 2.68 in (68 mm) keyboard section. The drawing shows a 96.31 x 67.31 mm display-area inlay, an inner box height of 22.00 mm and a 2.25 mm wall. The maximum P.C. board is 151 x 73 mm, mounted on 10 PCB posts on top and 12 on the bottom that accept #4 x 1/4" self tap screws.

The halves are fastened with M3-0.5 x 18 mm Philips head machine screws into integral brass bushings pre-installed in the top half, ideal where units are opened and closed repeatedly. Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The flame retardant ABS is rated UL94 V-0.

Each 1553TTGY includes the top, bottom, front and rear plastic panels and 6 cover screws; recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Replacement end panels are sold as 1553TTPLGY-10. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg).
