The 1553TGYBAT is the light grey, battery-equipped member of the large 1553T hand-held "T" soft side enclosure line. It is designed for battery powered instrument or mobile data devices that need a keypad and a display, with a dark grey TPE overmold giving a soft grip on the handheld section.
It measures 8.27 x 3.94 x 1.26 in (210 x 100 x 32 mm). The display section is 3.94 in (100 mm) wide and the keyboard section 3.39 in (86 mm) wide, both recessed for membrane devices. The battery compartment accepts (4) AA or (2) 9V batteries; the series specifies 8x battery clips for 4x AA and 2x 9 volt (PP3) clips for 1553T BAT versions, behind a long-life three point battery door.
The part page lists maximum P.C. board figures of 92.22 mm and 134 mm. The drawing shows 8 PCB posts on the top half and 10 on the bottom, each accepting a #4 x 1/4" self tap screw (1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100), a 66.62 mm battery holder and an inner box height of 25.00 mm.
The flame retardant ABS carries a UL94 V-0 rating. The halves close with M3-0.5 x 18 mm Philips head machine screws into brass bushings pre-installed in the top half; 6 cover screws are included and should be torqued to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Only the top end panel is removable on this version. The 1553TGYBAT ships shrink wrapped at 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
