Hammond 1553DYLBK Yellow Single End Panel Handheld Enclosure, 147 mm

The 1553DYLBK is a high-visibility yellow version of the large D-size 1553 hand held enclosure, finished with a black soft side overmold. It is a single end panel design intended for handheld electronics where a bright case color is wanted.

The enclosure measures 5.79 x 3.50 x 0.98 in (147 x 89 x 25 mm). The ordering table gives a maximum P.C. board of 5.47 x 2.91 in (139 x 74 mm), while the part page lists 139 x 73 mm. Inside, the drawing shows an inner box length of 140.24 mm, an inner box height of 19.50 mm and an inner width of 80.95 mm at the centre and 65.95 mm at the end.

The top cover is recessed with a 130.68 mm long inlay for a membrane display or keypad, and PC board standoffs are molded into the case so the board aligns on the PCB bosses. The part is designed to meet IP54 and carries a UL94 HB flame rating.

Each 1553DYLBK includes the top, bottom, front plastic panel and 4 cover screws; the P.C. board is not supplied. Non-grey 1553 enclosures use black screws, with 1593QS100BK listed as the replacement lid screw, and recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). The removable front panel can be swapped for the 1553DIR-BULK IR end panel. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg).
