The 1553DXGY is the grey, dual end panel version of the large D-size 1553 hand held enclosure. A grey ABS body with a gray soft plastic overmold gives a comfortable grip, and the two plastic end panels leave room for connectors, buttons or cable entries at each end of a handheld device.
Overall dimensions are 5.79 x 3.50 x 0.98 in (147 x 89 x 25 mm), with a maximum P.C. board size of 5.43 x 3.11 in (138 x 79 mm) and an inner box height of 19.50 mm. PC board standoffs are molded into the case and accept #4 self-tapping screws, which are ordered separately as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.
The top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54, a useful baseline for handheld equipment.
Each 1553DXGY assembly includes the top, bottom, 2 plastic end panels and 4 cover screws (P.C. board not supplied). Grey 1553 enclosures use nickel plated screws, and the listed replacement lid screws are 1593QS100 (silver). Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing is available, solid models come in .stp or .x_t, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag at 0.21 lbs (0.10 kg).
