The 1553BRDBKBAT is a red ABS 1553B hand held enclosure with a black soft overmold and a built-in battery door and compartment. It is aimed at battery-powered handheld products that benefit from a high-visibility red housing, such as alarms, safety devices or field tools.
The enclosure is 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). With the battery compartment in place, the ordering table lists a maximum P.C. board of 3.07 x 2.64 in (78 x 67 mm). The drawing shows an inner box 110.24 mm long and 18.50 mm high, PCB bosses on the bottom cover, and a 100.71 mm recessed inlay on the top cover for a membrane keypad or display.
Supplied parts are the top, bottom, a removable front plastic panel, the battery door, 4 battery spring clips (for 2x AA), a 9V (PP3) adapter and 2 cover screws; the P.C. board is not included. Molded in general purpose ABS, it has a UL94 HB flame rating, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.19 lbs (0.09 kg).
Black 1593QS100BK screws replace the lid screws; PCB screws are 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100. Spare red end panels (1553BPLRD-10), the BS61 9V battery kit and the 1553HDR-BKIT AA clip kit are available. Recommended cover torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
