The 1553BRDBK puts a red ABS body inside a black soft plastic overmold in the regular 1553B handheld size. The bright colour makes it a practical choice for handheld devices that need to stand out, such as safety tools, field instruments or branded consumer electronics.
On the part page the size is 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). The drawing shows an inner box of 110.25 x 71.02 mm (center width) with an 18.50 mm inner height. The maximum board is 109 x 70 mm per the part page and 105 x 61 mm per the ordering table, mounted on PCB bosses molded into the bottom cover. A 0.50 mm recessed inlay on the top cover takes a membrane keypad or display.
Molded from general purpose ABS, the 1553BRDBK is rated IP54 and UL94 HB and is RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships shrink wrapped with top, bottom, a removable front plastic panel and 2 cover screws, and weighs 0.17 lbs (0.08 kg). The P.C. board is not included.
Black 1593QS100BK screws replace the lid screws, and matching red end panels come as 1553BPLRD-10. PCB screws (1593ATS50/1593ATS100), a 1599CLIP belt clip and the 1553BIR-BULK infrared end panel are also available. Recommended cover torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
