The 1553AGY pairs a light grey ABS body with a matching grey soft overmold in the smallest 1553A size of the series. It is aimed at designers of compact handheld electronics who want an ergonomic, soft-sided case in a neutral finish for test tools, remotes or data loggers.
Overall size on the part page is 3.94 x 2.41 x 0.67 in (100 x 61 x 17 mm). The drawing gives an inner box length of 96.62 mm, inner width of 53.37 mm and inner height of 13.00 mm, with 5.00 mm high PCB bosses molded into the case. A board up to 94.8 x 48.8 mm fits, and the top cover has a 0.50 mm recessed inlay of 86.69 x 47.77 mm ready for a membrane keypad or display overlay.
The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS, rated IP54 and UL94 HB, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Gray 1553 enclosures come with nickel plated screws; this assembly includes top, bottom and 4 cover screws, with the P.C. board not supplied. The 1553A size has no battery compartment option and no removable front panel.
For spares, the 1553AGY takes SC1553A100 silver oval head self-tapping lid screws (#4 x 1/2 in). Board screws (1593ATS50/1593ATS100) and a grey 1599CLIPGY belt clip are sold separately. Tighten covers to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
