Hammond 1552D3BK 110x50x30 mm Hand-Held ABS Enclosure, Black

The 1552D3BK is a 110 x 50 x 30 mm hand-held ABS plastic enclosure in black, the mid-length size of the deeper 30 mm "D" family in the 1552 series. It pairs a 104 mm x 43.7 mm maximum printed circuit board with 24.20 mm of inside height, so it suits hand-held controllers and instruments that carry taller components. The ergonomic profile is designed for a comfortable grip and is also suitable for desktop use.

It is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic rated UL94-V0 with a satin texture, and the black case ships with black screws. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54 requirements. Four self-tapping screws secure the two halves, and snap closures near the middle of the enclosure wall add sturdiness. The top is recessed to take a membrane display or keypad.

Overall dimensions are 4.33 in (110 mm) long, 1.97 in (50 mm) wide and 1.18 in (30 mm) deep, with an inside height of 24.20 mm [0.95 in]. PCB bosses accept #2 self-tapping screws (1553WTS100, #2 x 3/16", sold in packs of 100), and the recommended cover screw torque is 21-28 ozf-in (15-20 cN-m). The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, two end panels and four cover screws.

Both end panels are removable for easy modification, or can be swapped for the size D rubberized cable gland kit (1552DPGKITBK / 1552DPGKITGY), which accepts 2 mm to 6 mm cable. A size D wall-mount holder (1552DHBK / 1552DHGY) and replacement end panel 10-packs (1552DPLBK-10 / 1552DPLGY-10) are sold separately. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t, and the 1552D3BK can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing.
