Hammond 1552C5GY 150x50x22 mm Hand-Held ABS Enclosure, Gray

The 1552C5GY is a 150 x 50 x 22 mm hand-held ABS plastic enclosure in light gray, the longest of the slim 22 mm deep "C" sizes in the 1552 series. It suits designers building hand-held controllers, sensors and instruments that need extra board length without extra thickness: the 150 mm body accepts a printed circuit board up to 144.5 mm x 43.7 mm. The ergonomic shape is designed for a comfortable fit in the user's hand and also works for desktop use.

It is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic rated UL94-V0 with a satin texture, and the light gray case ships with nickel plated screws. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54 requirements. Four self-tapping screws secure the two halves, and snap closures near the middle of the enclosure wall add sturdiness. The top is recessed to take a membrane display or keypad.

Overall dimensions are 5.91 in (150 mm) long, 1.97 in (50 mm) wide and 0.87 in (22 mm) deep, with an inside height of 16.20 mm [0.64 in]. PCB bosses accept #2 self-tapping screws (1553WTS100, #2 x 3/16", sold in packs of 100), and the recommended cover screw torque is 21-28 ozf-in (15-20 cN-m). The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, two end panels and four cover screws.

Both end panels are removable for easy modification, or can be swapped for the size C rubberized cable gland kit (1552CPGKITBK / 1552CPGKITGY), which accepts 2 mm to 6 mm cable. A size C wall-mount holder (1552CHBK / 1552CHGY) and replacement end panel 10-packs (1552CPLBK-10 / 1552CPLGY-10) are sold separately. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t, and the 1552C5GY can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing.
