Hammond 1552C3BK 110x50x22mm Hand-Held ABS Instrument Enclosure, Black

The 1552C3BK is the 110 mm long C3 size of the 1552 series hand-held ABS plastic enclosures, in black. It is an electronic instrument enclosure ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand while also standing up to desktop use, which makes it well suited to handheld controllers and instruments that need a longer circuit board.

The enclosure is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic with a satin texture and a UL94 V-0 rating. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water, and it is designed to meet IP54 requirements. A recessed top accepts a membrane display or keypad, and the removable end panels can be modified or replaced with rubberized cord grips.

The series table lists the C3 at 110 mm (4.33 in) long, 50 mm (1.97 in) wide and 22 mm (0.87 in) deep; the part listing gives 4.3 in x 1.97 in x 0.87 in (109 mm x 50 mm x 22 mm). Inside height is 16.20 mm [.64 in] and the maximum PCB is 104 mm by 43.7 mm, mounted with #2 self-tapping screws. Unlike the C1 size, the C3 has snap closures near the middle of the enclosure wall for added sturdiness, in addition to the four self-tapping cover screws. Black enclosures come with black screws; recommended torque is 21-28 ozf-in (15-20 cN-m).

Each assembly includes box, lid, 2 panels and 4 cover screws. Optional size C accessories are the 1552CPGKITBK cable gland kit (wire diameters 2 mm to 6 mm), the 1552CHBK wall-mount holder and 1552CPLBK-10 replacement end panels; SC550BK-50 cover screws are also available. RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, 0.11 lbs (0.05 kg).
