The 1551WTBK is a black, square watertight miniature enclosure from the 1551W series, measuring 60 x 60 x 22 mm without flanges. It gives electronics designers a sealed home for a small square circuit board in devices that may see rain, splashes or dust.
It is molded from robust polycarbonate with a satin texture, and the material is flame rated UL94 V-0. A replaceable silicone gasket protects against ingress of water or dust and the enclosure is designed to meet IP68, so it is suitable for outdoor use. The assembly includes the box, lid, gasket and four #4 plastite self-tapping cover screws.
External size is 60 mm (2.36 in) long by 60 mm (2.36 in) wide by 22 mm (0.87 in) deep including the lid. PC board standoffs are molded into the interior and take #2 self-tapping screws; the maximum board is 54.5 x 54.5 mm. Tighten #4 cover screws to 71-100 ozf.in (50-70 cN.m) and #2 internal screws to 21-28 ozf.in (15-20 cN.m).
