Hammond 1551WHFLGY 35x60x22mm IP68 Flanged Watertight Enclosure, Gray

The 1551WHFLGY is a watertight miniature enclosure with integrated wall-mounting flanges, moulded from light gray polycarbonate with a satin texture finish. From the 1551W series, it is designed to meet IP68 and is suitable for outdoor use, giving OEM engineers, integrators and electricians a small sealed housing for a printed circuit board that has to be fixed to a wall or panel.

Nominal size is 1.38 in x 2.36 in x 0.87 in (35 mm x 60 mm x 22 mm) (length not including flange), with the 22 mm depth including the lid. The maximum PC board size is 54.5 mm x 29.5 mm (board not supplied), and PC board standoffs are moulded into the interior for easy installation; they accept #2 self-tapping screws such as 1553WTS100 (#2 x 3/16" Plastite, 4.8 mm, pack of 100), with a recommended torque of (21-28) Ozf.in / (15-20) cN.m.

Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid, a replaceable silicone gasket and four #4 Plastite self-tapping cover screws. Recommended cover-screw torque is (71-100) Ozf.in / (50-70) cN.m. Replacement gaskets are sold as 1551WHGASKET (2-pack), and stainless steel replacement cover screws are available as SC509-50 (#4 x 3/8" Plastite, 9.5 mm, pack of 50).

The polycarbonate is rated UL94 V-0, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant. The same size is offered without flanges as 1551WHGY, and in black as 1551WHFLBK. Hammond can factory modify these enclosures (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in .stp and .x_t formats. Avoid strong solvents, thread lockers and cutting fluids, which can damage polycarbonate.
