Hammond 1551SNAP2WH 80x40 mm Unvented White ABS Snap-Fit Enclosure

The 1551SNAP2WH is an unvented white rectangular miniature enclosure for IoT devices, sensors and general purpose electronics. It measures a nominal 40 x 80 mm with a 20 mm depth, and its long, narrow interior accepts a PC board up to 74.25 x 34 mm, suiting long, narrow sensor or IoT boards.

Molded in ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating, the closed (unvented) housing is designed to meet IP30. The base and cover snap together without hardware and can be reopened repeatedly for service or reprogramming.

Overall size is listed as 1.57 in x 3.15 in x 0.79 in (40 mm x 80 mm x 20 mm), with a drawing height of 20.30 mm [.80 in] for the assembled enclosure. Four PC board standoffs are molded into the interior and accept #2 self tapping screws; Hammond recommends #2 x 3/16" self tapping screws, sold separately as 1553WTS100 (pack of 100), tightened to a recommended torque of (21-28) ozf.in / (15-20) cN.m. Shipping weight is 0.06 lbs (0.03 kg).

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. The same size is also offered as the vented 1551V2WH. Hammond notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage ABS plastic, so check compatibility before cleaning or modifying the enclosure.
